One of the biggest advantages of internal timber beading is that it offers high levels of security. There is very little risk of it being removed from the outside as in order to remove the beading, an intruder would have to smash the glass and reach in – potentially waking you and triggering an alarm in the process.
What is a window bead? The glazing bead is internal or external vinyl, aluminium or wooden strip along your window that help block out drafts and secure the glass pane within the frame. When a frame is described as timber internally-beaded, it means that the timber beading itself is located on the inside of the frame (ie, facing into the room). The wooden beading is the part of the frame holding the glass in place, usually a wooden strip at the edge of the glass which snaps securely into the recess.
