Common Uses
Wooden picture rail is used as a decorative moulding or rail fixed near the top of a wall to hang pictures from. Picture rail was a common feature in historical, period homes, both as a practical addition and a wall feature. This would break up the height of walls, in rooms with high ceilings, allowing the break between wall colour changes or a sensitive transition into the ceiling colour. Can also be used in other applications as a decorative surround to add detailing to panels, walls, doors or furniture.
