Fascia, barge and soffit board are three distinct roofline components, each with its own job: fascia board (sometimes spelled facia board) fixes to the rafter ends and carries the guttering, soffit board closes the gap underneath at the eaves, and barge board (also called bargeboard or vergeboard) runs up the gable end. Every profile shown here is made to order in solid timber - you choose the species, and we match you to a UK manufacturer who can reproduce it to your exact width, thickness and profile.

This makes it the right route when you need a genuine timber fascia board or replica bargeboard to match an existing period or listed property, rather than an off-the-shelf plastic replacement. Durable exterior species such as oak, cedar, Douglas fir, larch and Accoya are all available, and we can reproduce decorative Victorian and Gothic bargeboard detailing - fretwork, scalloped edges, finials - for heritage and conservation-area projects.

About Fascia, Barge and Soffit Board made to order

Fascia, Barge and Soffit Board: Made to Match, in Solid Timber

Unlike the uPVC roofline systems sold for new-build replacement, everything in this category is solid timber, made to order to your specification. That matters most on period and listed properties, where a genuine timber fascia board is expected rather than plastic capping, and on any renovation where the new board needs to match the profile, width and thickness of what is already on the house.

Fascia board fixes to the rafter feet and carries the gutter line; soffit board boxes in the underside of the eaves for ventilation and a clean finish; barge board (bargeboard or vergeboard) protects and dresses the gable end, and is traditionally where decorative Victorian and Gothic detailing - fretwork, scalloped or ornate barge boards - is carried. We can reproduce any of these, plain or decorative, from a photo, drawing or sample of the original.

Choose from durable, exterior-grade species including European oak, cedar, Douglas fir, larch and Accoya, a modified timber with a long service life outdoors. Profiles are available in a range of widths and thicknesses - typically 100-220mm wide and 16-31mm thick - in styles from plain torus and chamfered/splayed through to chamfered/rebated, finished planed all round unless you need it left sawn.

The profiles shown below are a starting point, not the limit of what we can produce. If your existing fascia, soffit or bargeboard is not listed here - including decorative Victorian bargeboards for a listed building or conservation area property - tell us the profile or send a sample and we will match it exactly.
